EPIC DBC VBS Team
Dunwoody Baptist Church in Dunwoody, Georgia is one of the premier VBS providers in the Atlanta area, hosting over 600 children with 300+ volunteers annually. The DBC team works year-long on the VBS project, writing original scripts, creating hand-made/sewn, quality costumes, developing fun crafts, snacks and making recreational games tied into the theme. DBC will sometimes use prepared VBS packages, but often utilizes Sunday school curriculum to launch VBS themes. For 2015, the DBC team developed Heroes of HIStory, and served as the beta test site during the week of June 8-11, 2015. The Epic Result? 86 children accepted Jesus as their Savior!

Dog biscuits for Scooby snacks at VBS? Max would be so proud!
Check out how Westfair Baptist Church is using HOH to touch local heroes as its mission outreach- SO EPIC!
We are focusing on our community heroes. On Sunday our focus in theroom (going along with Noah) was PAWs, an animal shelter. We made dog biscuits to donate. On Tuesday, we learned about what all firemen do. Then we made and bagged trail mix to be delivered to our local firemen (going along with the boys in the fiery furnace). Tomorrow we will learn about what police officers do (going along with Joseph in prison). We will then be writing thank you notes on stickers and sticking them on snack cakes to be delivered to our local police stations. On Wednesday, we will learn about our servicemen (going along with Gideon and the battle). We will then pack care packages to be sent to our servicemen who are overseas. On Sunday, we gave each child a dollar with a letter asking them to do something with it to make it grow. On Thursday we will be hearing stories about what the children did and how their dollar grew. The money is going to help with the starting up of Jacksonville Deaf Bible Church.
HOH Homestyle!
The AMAZING Homeschool mom Sheila Cassa decided to use Heroes of HIStory in her home for 22 young girls. She created phenomenal decorations, crafts, snacks, games, and used the video skits, music and dance videos to bring HOH to life. WOW! I was blown away by how brilliant this was, and how smoothly the three rotating groups of girls did all the stations of HOH. I was blessed to come speak to the girls, sign books, and to hear from their mission outreach partner who ministers to single moms trying to get back on their feet. Thank you Sheila and team for inviting me to participate in your EPIC week!
"Jenny...you have no idea what your VBS curriculum has done for our group of girls and for me! I was so sad for it to end today! We had sooooo much fun! These girls were worshipping to the music everyday and learning all the moves. They know about the HEROES and their part in HIStory. I hope that I have created a book or chapter in their lives. I have loved listening to these girls as they prayed and watching their faith in Christ grow. This has changed my life so much-just the witnessing of HIS power through the planning, implementing, teachings, and witnessing. My heart is so full, and I have you to thank. Thank you a million times over. 😘😘😘" - Sheila Cassa
